Mary's Place is a classic Hyams Beach cottage that has been luxuriously yet comfortably restored. Offering all the modern comforts, it still retains its original character and charm. It is perfect for one or two couples, or a small family.
Strictly no parties at this property – please. You will be evicted if this rule is broken.
Summer Season Bookings: 13 Dec 2024 and 23 Jan 2025 - Minimum 7 night booking - Arrival and departure on a Saturday. If booking online, please search for vacancies with Saturday being the arrival and departure day. Summer Season bookings are most easily made directly with our Bookings Team.
Where will I be?
Mary's Place is located half way up Bayview Avenue in a lovely, elevated position. It is nestled amongst native trees and has distant views to Jervis Bay from the side deck. It is an easy walk down Bayview Avenue to the white sands of Hyams Beach, or along Cyrus Street to the Hyams Beach Cafe.
Why choose Mary's Place?
Mary's Place is modern, very well appointed, and has everything you could possibly need for your holiday. The kitchen is very well equipped. The house also has lovely outside areas including a large day bed which makes the perfect spot to relax and read.
How is the property laid out?
Mary's Place is set over one level which encompasses a side deck, rear entertainment area with barbecue, kitchen, dining and lounge, separate laundry, shared bathroom and two queen bedrooms. An outside shower is also located downstairs.
WiFi, Internet, Netflix or Pay TV - will I have it?
This property does have Wi-Fi and a username and password will be provided for that in your pre-arrival email. You may use the house WiFi with no guarantee of reliability or bandwidth by us or the owner. If internet access is critical during your stay, please make sure that you have a Plan B. Netflix is BYO, so sign in with your own account for a relaxing night in!
What about outdoors?
Mary's Place has a large deck that wraps around the eastern side of the house. It connects to a rear courtyard and entertaining area with gas BBQ and outdoor table and chairs. This rear courtyard catches lovely sun and offers good seclusion. The property also has large lawned areas.
Staying warm or keeping cool?
Mary's Place is equipped with ceiling fans in all rooms and an electric heater in the living room
What about sheets, towels and other supplies?
Linen and bath towels are provided at Mary's Place. Please however remember to bring your own beach towels.
Parking for cars, boats etc?
2 cars can easily park in the driveway which is off the street in front of the house with stairs leading up to the side deck.
Is my dog or cat also welcome to stay?
Mary's Place is not a pet friendly property. Please contact us for a list of our many other pet friendly options!
Is there any special information that I should know?
Please be aware that the De Longhi coffee machine as pictured in the photos above is no longer in the kitchen. A Dolce Gusto coffee pod machine is available for use.
What are the minimum stay rules?
- Summer Season: Between 2 and 7 nights, depending on the property
- Easter: 4 nights
- Long Weekends: 3 nights
- All other times: 2 nights
Are there any special Summer Season rules?
Please note that during Summer Season, our properties may have designated changeover days so as to make the cleaning rosters manageable. We also do not schedule arrivals on the Christmas, Boxing, and New Years Day public holidays.

Mary’s place has a Comfy atmosphere, great supplies and has everything you need to get close by (even the beautiful white sands crystal blue beach is just a few steps away!) the whole home gave off a great cozy vibe just perfect for a couple or even better for a couples vacation 100% will recommend and will be booking again in the near future!

We loved Hyams Beach and how quiet this location was. The house is charming and comfortable. The weather wasn't really great so a fireplace would have made it the perfect stay.

Noise
Tom M - 12th December 2020We were woken every morning by construction workers at 7am in the morning. Street sweeper ( went up and down the street twice very loud ) at about the same time. So much for some peace and quiet in the morning and during the day. This morning ( Saturday) a truck parked across the driveway and unloaded an excavator and then began to excavate next door from 6.55 for three hours. We love coming here but its become to busy and noisy.
We loved our stay at Mary’s Place! It’s a beautiful house and had everything that we could have needed. We would highly recommend Mary’s place if you are visiting Hyams Beach.

Great location, great amenities and water view as a bonus. Awesome day bed to spend an afternoon reading. Definitely recommend.
The location is absolutely perfect and upon arrival we were really happy with the unit, however, during our stay it became apparent there are many things missing that you would expect in an air bnb, especially one being professionally managed. There were no mirrors in the bedrooms at all, for 4 girls sharing it was impossible to get ready as the bathroom was pitch black. No bin or any basic amenities in the bathroom, not even shower gel. The main bin was completely broken we had to use bin bags and the outside door actually fell off when we were shutting it. The shower desperately needs replacing it took 5 mins for the water to turn on and even then it was the weakest shower I’ve ever used. Only 3 wine glasses when it sleeps 4 etc etc. Also the note on the fridge starts with ‘This is not the gold coast’ which I’m sure people are aware of whilst booking their stay but it seems very strange to begin the booking leaflet with such a negative statement. At its current state we wouldn’t choose to stay again which is a shame as the property itself it’s lovely but lots of small things unfortunately left a bad taste in our mouth.
A lovely, atmospheric and well equipped house. Perfect for a couple, close friends or a small family. 100 metres from famous white sand beach. Bay glimpse.
Wonderful location right near the beach and a short drive to the main hub. Very comfortable stay, the house was very clean, although missing some basic items that many air bnb offer including soap in the shower and shampoo/conditioner.

Needs Some TLC
Jardy - 20th March 2019Well-located but lacking. Needs a good clean. Kitchen especially. In bathroom was no soap, and water clogged in shower so had to stand in two inches of water. No hair dryer. Shower head not fully functional. All up this place does not represent value for the big money required to stay here.

Hannah - 26th November 2018Great location - stones throw and easy meander to the main entrance of Hyams Beach & beach cafe. Well appointed holiday house - perfect for a small family or 2 couples. Facilities are modern, tidy and well equipped. Unfortunate positioning of the whole area of Hyam's as it loses the sun early. Off-Street parking in drive which would be required in busy seasons. Day bed on the balcony is perfect an lazy afternoon reading and beds are VERY comfortable!
