This original fifties coastal weekender has been lovingly restored with both modern and vintage elements, providing a rustic and romantic setting for you to write your own story, to spin yarns, and tell tales. These walls have been keeping secrets for sixty years; tales of fishing, boating, family holidays and of the local beekeeper selling honey from the shed. Writers Loft is part of the larger story of the coast, of the south, of stars and trees and water. Be part of the laid-back simplicity of coastal life, enjoy the water views from the front porch or spend lazy afternoons reading the many books and magazines.
Where will I be?
Writers Loft is located in the sleepy coastal village of Erowal Bay on beautiful St Georges Basin. Erowal Bay is perfect for walking, playing tennis or relaxing in the sleepy village atmosphere surrounded by wildlife. Waterskiing, fishing, canoeing and windsurfing are just some of the activities to be enjoyed on St George's Basin. There is a boat ramp and the local store provides takeaway food, petrol, alcohol and groceries.
Why choose Writers Loft?
The best of what Jervis Bay has to offer is close by, including the famous Hyams Beach, which is five minutes by car. Immerse yourself in the pristine waters of the bay and the many activities available, including surfing, sea kayaking, stand-up paddleboards, diving and whale watching. Explore Huskissons shops, cafes such as Five Little Pigs, and restaurants including Wild Ginger, The Quarters and Kanpai. Booderee National Park is 10 minutes drive with botanic gardens, white sand beaches and bush walks.
How is the property laid out?
Writers Loft is a sun-drenched loft-style beach house, providing the perfect getaway for a couple or sole traveller. It is decorated in a neutral palette and natural textures, with whitewashed floors and plantation shutters. This luxurious yet comfortable retreat brings together the ultimate in indoor/outdoor living. French doors lead from the light-filled
open-plan interior onto a lush outdoor deck with lounge and Weber BBQ. The bedroom is a calm, stylish and beautiful space with touches of luxury such as pure linen sheets, bed canopy and chandelier. The barn door leads from the bedroom into a
spacious bathroom with a large bathtub, shower and original concrete laundry sink. There is also a laundry containing a second shower and toilet.
Wi-Fi, Internet, Netflix and Pay TV - will I have it?
This property does have Wi-Fi and a username and password will be provided for that in your pre-arrival email. You may use the house Wi-Fi with no guarantee of reliability or bandwidth by us or the owner.If internet access is critical during you stay, please make sure that you have a Plan B.
What about outdoors?
Writers Loft houses a lush front porch, perfect for your morning cuppa while looking down the street to the water at St George's Basin. Out the back is a large deck with gas BBQ and outdoor dining.
Staying warm or keeping cool?
Writers Loft is an air-conditioned property, including the bedroom.
What about sheets, towels and other supplies?
Pure linen bedding is provided at this property - though please remember to bring your favourite beach towels!
Parking for cars, boats etc?
There is a single off street, concreted parking spot at Writers Loft.
Is my dog or cat also welcome to stay?
Writers Loft is a pet friendly property and is fully fenced. Guests must advise they will be bringing pets at the time of booking. Please also respect the following rules in relation to pets:
Please do not allow wet or dirty dogs in or through the house. Absolutely no dogs on the furniture or on beds/ Please bag and dispose of doggy waste appropriately. Please clean up dog hairs or anything else inside the house before your departure.
What are the minimum stay rules?
- Peak Season: Between 2 and 7 nights, depending on the property
- Easter: 4 nights
- Long Weekends: 3 nights
- All other times: 2 nights
Are there any special Peak Season rules?
Please note that during Peak Season, our properties may have designated changeover days so as to make the cleaning rosters manageable. We also do not schedule arrivals on the Christmas, Boxing, and New Years Day public holidays.

A beautiful, dog-friendly retreat!
Erika Leesing - 15th May 2022A beautiful little bolt-hole (the pics don't do it justice) in peaceful Erowal Bay, and the perfect antidote to city living. Even though it rained for most of my stay, the extremely comfortable four poster bed, books scattered around (mostly classics so BYO if more of a contemporary fan) and luxurious bathroom, made enforced indoor time a dream! The fully fenced yard was great for my pup as well. I'll definitely be back again in drier weather!!

Delightful few days spent atThe Writers Loft. More spacious than photographs suggest, with several places to sit both inside and out. Location is perfect, especially for visiting Booderee National Park. Very prompt response (and fix) when we had a problem with one of the heaters. Would happily return for a longer stay.

The moment we walked in we were blown away but the gorgeous and unique styling of the place. The Writers Loft was such a gorgeous little cottage only a street from the bay. It was only a 10 minute drive from Huskisson and 15 minutes from the Booderee National Park. Great house with everything you could need or want and a quirky and charming atmosphere. Loved our 4 nights stay and we will definitely be back again.
