Milhouse is a beautiful country retreat set on 3.5 acres and it accommodates up to 19 guests (maximum 14 adults please), across 8 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. This beautiful property is only 1.5 kms from the heart of Berry. The original farmhouse was built over 120 years ago and is complemented by a commercial kitchen with cool room, and a modern accommodation wing. Other features of this fantastic property include a tennis court, swimming pool, fire pit, herb and vegetable garden for guest use, parking for over 10 vehicles, and beautiful gardens to enjoy. 5 of the 8 bedrooms have their own ensuite bathrooms and sitting areas, giving guests added privacy when they want it.
** Please note ** – Milhouse has unfenced ponds in its grounds, so please take great care with young children. Milhouse does not host weddings, however is a perfect option for wedding guest accommodation. Finally, as explained further below, Milhouse has external security cameras.
** Where will I be? **
Milhouse is located approximately 1.5km from Berry, taking 2 minutes by car or 20 minutes on foot. Seven Mile Beach is a 10 minute drive away.

** Why choose Milhouse? **
In the past, Milhouse was run as a traditional bed and breakfast. The property has been beautifully restored by new owners and is now rented as a large, single residence – perfect for a family gathering, corporate retreat, or a getaway for friends. The property has ample indoor / outdoor living spaces, and 5 out of 8 bedrooms enjoy ensuites and sitting areas, meaning that guests can enjoy more privacy than in a typical holiday rental. The picturesque town of Berry with its popular shops, cafes and restaurants is only a short drive away, as is Seven Mile Beach. Or if you stay at “home” you will be well catered for with a swimming pool, tennis court, games room, fire pit, vegetable garden, and beautiful grounds to explore.
** How is the property laid out? **
The main entrance takes you into a foyer area. Directly ahead you will see the outdoor terrace, complete with large outdoor dining setting. Turning left will take you into the original farmhouse, consisting of 2 bedrooms, study, media room and bathroom. Turning right takes you into the modern extension. The heart of the building is the large living & dining and kitchen area. A long hallway leads to 6 additional bedrooms.
The house is serviced by a commercial grade kitchen, complete with walk in coolroom. A separate freezer is located in the laundry.
There are 5 en-suite bathrooms, one shared bathroom, and a guest powder room adjacent to the kitchen and main living room.
** WiFi, Netflix, Pay TV – will I have it? **
This property provides complimentary WiFi and a password will be provided in your pre-arrival email. There is a smart tv in the living room so you can stream your favourite shows.
Please note however that neither the agency nor the owner can guarantee 100% that the WiFi will work, and no compensation will be payable if problematic. If important, please therefore always have a back up plan.
** What about outdoors? **
Milhouse is set on 3.5 acres. There are extensive gardens which include a swimming pool, full sized tennis court and fire pit. There is a large outdoor patio with a gas BBQ and large outdoor setting. There is also a large vegetable & herb garden that guests are welcome to help themselves to.
Please note – there is an unfenced creek and garden ponds on the property so young children must be supervised at all times.
** Staying warm or keeping cool?! **
There are wood burning fireplaces in the living & dining room, and another in the master bedroom. An adequate supply of firewood will be provided for the fireplaces and fire pits. Thereafter, guests will be required to purchase additional firewood in Berry town.
Various guest rooms and ensuites also have under floor heating and some have ceiling fans. There is air conditioning in the entrance, sun room and living & dining areas.
**Security at Milhouse**
Please note that given the quality and nature of the Milhouse, there are several external cameras set up on the property for security and to monitor guest numbers. There are no internal cameras. The cameras do not have a live feed, however can be referred to if there are any issues that need further investigation.
** What about sheets, towels and other supplies? **
High quality sheets and towels are provided at Milhouse. Please bring your own beach towels however.
** Parking for cars, boats etc? **
There is parking available for 6 cars in the car park near the front door. An additional 10 cars can be parked in the empty paddock on the other side of the tennis court.
** Is my dog or cat also welcome to stay? **
Sorry, Milhouse is not pet friendly. Please check our website for other pet friendly options.
** What are the minimum stay rules? **
There is a minimum two night stay for all bookings, which changes to three nights on long weekends, four nights at Easter and seven night blocks during peak season. Peak season runs from mid-December to the end of January.
** Are there any special Peak Season rules? **
Please note that during peak season, our properties have designated changeover days to make the cleaning rosters manageable. We also do not schedule arrivals on the Christmas, Boxing, and New Years Day public holidays.
