Shanti is an acreage property with awe inspiring views. It’s stunning scenery and tranquility fully lives up to its “Shanti" name (meaning peaceful). The two cottages have had a recent complete renovation and bespoke fit-out and now offer luxurious comfort! The property is home to abundant different wildlife, making it a wonderful place to observe and enjoy these animals in their natural surroundings. Guests are also welcome to wander the 15 acres of cleared land and to use the cabana and jetty over the lovely dam.
Shanti offers two cottages: Cottage 1 accommodates up to six guests, and Cottage 2 accommodates up to four guests. If you would like to book for only six guests, please see Shanti for 6 or phone our bookings team.

Where will I be?
Shanti is located in a secluded, peaceful and beautiful location. On a ridge on top of Berry mountain, you are treated to stunning north facing views of the Wattamolla Valley from the property's elevated position. The host's dwelling is also on the property, so whilst you will feel away from the world, there is someone on hand in the event of any issues or an emergency.
Shanti’s location is a 15 minute drive to Berry, 20 minutes to Kangaroo Valley and if you are up for a half day or full day outing, there are beautiful destinations in the region: the famous beaches at Jervis Bay, Gerroa, and Culburra, as well as wonderful destinations of Minnamurra Falls, Crooked Creek Winery, Fitzroy Falls, canoeing on Kangaroo Valley River, and many other activities.

How is the property laid out?
Cottage 1 has a light filled, huge living room with with cathedral ceilings opening to a full width deck with those stunning views of the Wattamolla Valley! There is comfort year round with a wood burning fireplace and air conditioning. A round dining table is perfect for guests to enjoy meals and long conversations, or grab a casual breakfast at breakfast bench. The bedrooms consist of a super king bedroom with ensuite, and two good sized queen bedrooms. There is a large bathroom with washing machine and dryer.
The adjoining Cottage 2 has two queen bedrooms (one upstairs, one downstairs), a kitchenette, air conditioning, bathroom and a living area.
Both kitchens are well equipped and have Nespresso coffee machines. Some pods are provided, but bring additional if you are a coffee lover!
WiFi, Internet, Netflix, or Pay TV - will I have it?
Complimentary reliable and excellent WiFi is available and a password will be provided in your pre-arrival email. TV in both cottages, with Cottage 1 having a smart TV with complimentary Netflix.
Please note that neither The Holidays Collection nor the owner can guarantee 100% that WiFi will work, and no compensation will be payable if problematic. If WiFi is important, please therefore always have a back up plan.
What about outdoors?
Shanti is a 98-acre rainforest property, of which 15 are cleared. Extensive park like areas are well maintained so walking around the property or playing cricket is easy, including heading over to the large dam with picnic cabana and jetty for guest use. You will likely see wombats, wallabies, kangaroos, water dragons, possums, fruit bats, turtles, echidna and other wildlife on the property, so please drive slowly after dark, and at dawn and dusk. We provide torches so you can go spotlighting for the multitude of resident wombats and wallabies, or bring your binoculars for over 70 bird species that have been recorded on the property.
Stay warm or keeping cool?
For the cooler months, Cottage 1 has a wood burning fireplace in the living room, and air conditioning for the warmer weather. The Cottage has reverse cycle air conditioning. Each bedroom has either a ceiling or wall mounted fan.
What about sheets, towels and other supplies?
Shanti supplies all linen and bath towels.
Parking for cars, etc?
Shanti has open air parking on a paved driveway area near the house, or additional driveway and lawn parking for vehicles. Four car spaces are covered by a carport between the Farmhouse and the cottage. In total up to 6 vehicles can be comfortably parked. For the Tesla cars, there is complimentary Tesla charging.
Is my dog or cat also welcome to stay?

What are the minimum stay rules?
- Summer Season: between 2 and 7 nights, depending on the property
- Easter: 4 nights
- Long Weekends: 3 nights
- All other times: 2 nights
Are there any special Summer Season rules?
Please note that during Summer Season, our properties may have designated changeover days so as to make the cleaning rosters manageable. We also do not schedule arrivals on the Christmas, Boxing, and New Years Day public holidays.
