Deckhouse, Gerroa has everything you need for a perfect beach holiday - literally. It sleeps 10 across 4 bedrooms plus a separate nursery, with two bedrooms have en-suites. It has stunning views of Seven Mile Beach, an upstairs outdoor deck with opening verandah roof, gas BBQ, spa and an indoor deck for windy days, a small lawn for your furry friends, outdoor hot and cold shower, baby equipment, fantastic kitchen and living area, and the rest. You will not easily find a better spot for a family holiday in Gerroa! Suitable for families or respectful groups given that the owners stay in a separate unit upstairs.
Strictly no parties at this property – please. You will be evicted if this rule is broken.
Summer Season Bookings: 13 Dec 2024 and 23 Jan 2025 - Minimum 7 night booking - Arrival and departure on a Monday. If booking online, please search for vacancies with Monday being the arrival and departure day. Summer Season bookings are most easily made directly with our Bookings Team.
Where will I be?
Deckhouse has an elevated position on Headland Drive and is an easy walk to the Fisherman's club (100 metres), the Blue Swimmer Café (300 metres), or the beach (500 metres). You will be in a row of houses that have stunning views of Seven Mile Beach and the surrounding hinterland!
Why choose Deckhouse?
Deckhouse is a true home away from home, supplied with everything you could need for your beach holiday. The views are to die for, the spa is a bonus, and if it is windy, you still have a lovely, internal deck area where you can sit and enjoy the views. The house is spacious and comfortable, with lovely natural light in the open plan living / kitchen area which has high cathedral ceilings.
The owners also kindly supply spa towels, Wi-Fi, Netflix, 2 kayaks, a beach umbrella, kids toys and boogie boards for your use!
Is there any special information I should know about?
The owners stay upstairs in a totally separate unit. They will not disturb you at all during your stay and sound does not travel between the levels. The owners will however report any unruly, noisy or inappropriate activity to us as the managing agents. Please be aware of this, making the house suitable only for families or quiet groups. No party groups - thanks!
How is the property laid out?
The home is laid out over one split level. You have your own private entrance and hot and cold outdoor shower. Once inside, there are 5 bedrooms (including a nursery), 2 en-suites, 1 powder room,1 shared bathroom. Bedroom 3 also has a small annex with cot and changing table, perfect for a couple with a very young children. There is an internal laundry which includes a washing machine and clothes dryer. This is a very large open plan lounge, dining and kitchen room with cathedral ceilings. The living area connects to the internal deck, as well as the external deck which has the spa and gas BBQ plus plenty of outdoor seating.
Stairs also lead down from the large external deck to a lower level where there is a small grassed areas for your pets.
WI-FI, internet, Netflix or pay tv- will I have it?
This property provides complimentary NBN Wi-Fi and a password will be provided in your pre-arrival email. The owners also provide you the use their Netflix account. This property also features a premium Foxtel package for guest enjoyment. Please note however that neither The Holidays Collection nor the owner can guarantee 100% that the Wi-Fi or Netflix will work, and no compensation will be payable if problematic. If Wi-Fi is important during your stay, please have a back up plan.
What about outdoors?
This beach house offers a full width external deck, complete with dining table, occasional chairs, spa and gas BBQ. Stairs also lead down from the large external deck to a lower level which has a grassed / lawn area for pets.
Keeping warm or keeping cool?
This property has air conditioning in both the living area and the large kids bedroom - for both heating and cooling. Every bedroom in the house has ceiling fans and wall heaters. The house can be opened up as much as possible to catch the ocean breeze. In cooler months, if the reverse cycle air conditioning is not enough, there is also a fireplace!
What about sheets, towels and other supplies?
High quality sheets and towels are provided including a towel for use in the Spa. Please bring your own beach towels as well if you plan to visit Seven Mile Beach, Shoalhaven, or other nearby beaches!
Tea and coffee, toilet paper, washing up liquid, body and hand wash and some other supplies are also provided, but please be prepared to top up during your stay as needed. Regarding food, condiments and the like, please plan to bring everything you need. For safety and hygiene reasons, our houses generally do not supply food items.
Parking for cars, boats etc.?
This property has two off street parking space only. All other guest vehicles can be parked in the car spaces at the top of Headland Drive (opposite the lookout).
Is my dog or cat also welcome to stay?
Yes, the home is pet friendly on request. The yard is fully fenced. Please keep any pets off the furniture or beds and of course clean up behind your canine friend!
What are the minimum stay rules?
- Summer Season: Between 2 and 7 nights, depending on the property
- Easter: 4 nights
- Long Weekends: 3 nights
- All other times: 2 nights
Are there any special Summer Season rules?
Please note that during Summer Season, our properties may have designated changeover days so as to make the cleaning rosters manageable. We also do not schedule arrivals on the Christmas, Boxing, and New Years Day public holidays.

And being able to bring our pet dog was great....good fenced in back yard. Easy walk to Fisherman's Club. The beach was an easy walk there and back but small children might struggle on the way back with the hills.
This house was a great house to fit our family of eight people. It is about a 10 minute walk to the beach and a 5 minute walk to the blue swimmer cafe down the road (great food and coffee)! The main part of the house is open plan and lovely to sit outside and enjoy the view from the deck/spa. Thanks for having us!
Excellent!!
We had a lovely family holiday in Gerroa. The place is well at set out for a large group with two ensuites, bedrooms away from living areas and a downstairs garden and upstairs deck area. The walk to the beautiful beach/ river is pleasant and short. We had plenty of towels, bathrobes and beach supplies. The boogey boards were a nice touch but the kayaks could use a clean. The place is perfect for kids with a fenced yard downstairs (although there are ceramic coasters everywhere!). Love the multiple outdoor showers. A couple of things that could've been better for us: there was negligible internet so no Netflix (tough on rainy days). Letting Craig know was entirely unhelpful. For the price we paid we would've expected basic toiletries. The coffee machine was not working and there was no plunger. We stayed for 6 nights and couldn't change the hot tub water. We ran out of toilet paper and bought our own (no spares in bathroom cupboards). There were mainly plastic wine glasses/champagne flutes (which might seem like a small thing but imagine pouring Xmas Tattinger into plastic!).

Similarly, the interior living spaces were extremely comfortable. The owners have provided for any need that a holiday maker may require. As one of our number was enjoying her birthday we were very impressed with the owners thoughtfulness in decorating the property with balloons and banners as well as leaving a card, chocolates, flowers and a bottle of bubbly.
