All of the cottages are linked by a drive way that winds its way through the bush and gardens. Lavender Cottage, Studio Cottage, Orchard Cottage, Pottery Cottage and Angas Carriage are all in close proximity to each other and form the central focus point of the property. Eco Cottage are Oatley Cottage are slightly removed from the other cottages and provide a little more privacy for occupants.

** Wi-Fi, Internet, Netflix or Pay TV will I have it? **This particular property does NOT offer Wi-Fi. If you bring an internet dongle with you, the best network is generally Telstra. Otherwise, it’s best to use your smartphone only during your stay or find a local cafe that offers free Wi-Fi. The Holidays Collection is committed to getting all owners to provide Wi-Fi at their property, but this is still work in progress!

** What about outdoors? **

There are 40 acres of gardens and bush for guests to enjoy. There are bush trails which make accessing the bush very pleasant. There are two Shetland ponies, Bootie and Trumbie, and two alpacas, Augustine and Freda on the property for you to meet. Most of the cottages have generous verandahs or courtyards with barbeques and outdoors seating.

** Keeping warm or keeping cool?! **
All cottages are heated, either by fireplace or electric radiator or, in some cases, both. Some cottages have air conditioning, and those that dont have fans.

** What about sheets, towels and other supplies? **

High quality sheets and towels are provided at Little Forest.

Toilet paper, kitchen soaps, guest soaps and some other supplies are also provided, but please be prepared to top up during your stay as needed. Lavender Cottage is a beautiful home located on 40 acres of gardens and bush in Alpine, Southern Highlands. The timber floorboards and exposed roof beams give this property a wonderful country feel. You will not miss out on modern conveniences however, with a large modern kitchen, flat screen televisions and air conditioning upstairs. This home sleeps up to 14 people across 4 bedrooms, and has 3 bathrooms. Children are well catered for with large lawns and gardens to explore and even a tree house. Lavender House is a charming and spacious base for enjoying all that the Southern Highlands has to offer.

Lavender Cottage is located within the Little Forest complex, a collection of 7 cottages spread across 42 acres of grounds. Your cottage will have its own private spaces, but please be aware that other guests may be around as well. There are two other cottages as well as the Angas Carriage in immediate proximity to your cottage so please do expect to occasionally see your neighbours. Communal spaces include the lawns, gardens, driveway and trails, but you will have plenty of privacy as well. The Little Forest complex has a bush setting and is circled on one side by the Sydney – Melbourne railway line. As a result, trains are audible at times, and for any kids, part of the fun! Little Forest also has various trails throughout its 42 acres, but please keep children supervised at all times due to wildlife, unfenced dams and trains.

A visit to the Southern Highlands is all about experiencing beautiful countryside, sitting around a cosy fireplace, driving through working farms, and if you are lucky, staying in an older style, traditional home. Lavender Cottage is such a home, however it has been carefully updated to provide modern comforts while maintaining its historic charm.

Lavender Cottage is reached down a tree-lined country drive way. You approach the house through beautiful gardens and enter into a large living area with slow combustion wood heater and flat screen television. The first floor also contains a large, fully equipped country style kitchen, dining area that seats 10, laundry, two bathrooms and three bedrooms. Upstairs is the fourth bedroom with ensuite. Outside is an undercover entertaining area with large table and bbq. The house is surrounded by lawns and gardens to explore and play in.

This pretty country cottage has been built to provide a comfortable stay with a low ecological impact. This has been achieved with a water tank, low energy hot water system and enviro cycle septic system. The cottage makes use of recycled timber, windows and materials. Just over an hours drive from Sydney, Alpine Lodge is the perfect luxury country getaway. Set on 22 acres, this architecturally designed home boasts beautiful bush views and luxurious modern amenities. Alpine Lodge is located approximately 10 minutes drive from Mittagong. Bowral is a 15 minute drive away. This is the perfect location for those who want a secluded retreat to come home to after a day enjoying all the Southern Highlands has to offer.

The lounge faces a gorgeous sandstone feature wall. Take the steps beside the sandstone feature wall to enter the rumpus room with 2 seater lounge, wall mounted big screen TV. Also on this level is a bathroom, & two bedrooms one with a queen bed and built in, and the other with 2x king singles & built in. There is a glass sliding door out onto a large rear deck where you can overlook the surrounding bushland.

A large foyer with vaulted ceiling that features a white piano is located behind the kitchen wall. Pass through the double doors into the formal dining room and raised formal lounge room which features the double sided fireplace, glass windows that bring light and sunshine indoors and allow guests to enjoy the views. (The hallway in front of the piano leads to the actual front door. The foundations have sunk slightly and the front door is now extremely difficult to open and close hence why we use the side entrance off the carport) At the end of the hallway beside the front door there is another set of white double doors that leads into the spacious home office with a desk. There is a powder room opposite the staircase to the upper level.

Upstairs is a sitting room, home theatre with balcony behind the blackout curtains, and three bedrooms; two with queen beds & built-ins plus access to a balcony. On this level you will also find the master bedroom with king bed, occasional chair by the windows perfect for reading, wall mounted TV, walk in robe, & two way bathroom with underfloor heating, heated towel racks, bath, shower, & vanity.

There are heated, polished concrete floors throughout the house. Between the formal dining room and the lounge room is a double sided gas fireplace which warms both areas. The ensuite bathroom features underfloor heating and a heated towel rail.

** How is the property laid out? **

Enjoy the comfort of this light filled home with lofty, vaulted ceilings, exposed brickwork feature walls and carpet underfoot throughout the living area and bedrooms. Purpose built to take advantage of the amazing views and natural sea breeze, this wonderful split level home will not disappoint.

On the entry level are three bedrooms: a queen with ensuite, walk in robe and views over the beach, another queen and a twin room with two single beds. Opposite the twin room is the main family bathroom with generous shower, vanity and toilet.

On the upper level is the open plan living and dining area openout to a deck looking out to the beach. The living areaincorporates a large flat screen TV with DVD player (with a selection of DVDs to suit most ages), and music system. There is a large dining room table, leather lounge and chairs to relax and enjoy the views.

The fully equipped kitchen has an electric wall oven, built in microwave, dishwasher, large fridge and an eat-in breakfast nook.

Wembley is available to be booked for post wedding brunches. The 11 in house guests + an additional 30 guests may attend the brunch. This is entirely on a “Do It Yourself” basis. Wembley is unable to provide catering, cutlery, crockery etc for the brunch. The cost of hosting a brunch is an additional $1,450 and must be arranged with us at the time of booking or prior to your stay. The on site caretaker will monitor use of the property for brunches, and we will ensure payment for that.

Wembley is situated in Medway, to the west of historic Berrima. It is close enough to town to be an easy drive for coffee or a meal, but far enough out to truly feel away from it all. Kangaroos and wombats frequently visit the property, guests are reminded that these are wild animals and not to approach them.

The pizza oven and adjacent BBQs are not available for guests’ use.

The trampoline is used entirely atyourown risk.

The pool is accessed via multiple gates and is fully compliant with NSW regulations. Please note, however, one of the pool gates is the large corrugated iron barn door in the bar area and therefore must be latched at all times.
