Bimbadgen is a classic, partially renovated weatherboard Hyams cottage with an unbeatable location and private beach access. This is an older style beach house, however is casual and comfy, with a fantastic ocean facing deck and lawn area. Please however book this property on the understanding that it still retains many original features - true to the photos on the web site.
Strictly no parties at this property – please. You will be evicted if this rule is broken.

Where will I be?
Bimbadgen is located on the waterfront side of Cyrus Street and has a private staircase leading down to the beach. You have a choice of using the boat ramp beach to your left or the main beach to your right.
Why choose Bimbadgen?
Whilst being older style in nature, Bimbadgen has one of the best locations in Hyams Beach, and the ocean facing deck and lawn area are perfect for relaxing and enjoying the best of Jervis Bay!
How is the property laid out?
Bimbadgen is a single level house with entry into the kitchen shared dining area. Off this room is also the open plan living space that leads onto the rear deck. There are three large bedrooms that sleep nine in total. Bedroom 1 has a queen size bed. Bedroom 2 has a queen size bed as well as a large modern ensuite. Bedroom 3 is the bunk room which has two bunks and a trundle, great for the kids. There is a second shared bathroom and a small laundry.
The kitchen has a dishwasher and Nespresso pod coffee machine.
Wi-Fi and streaming services - will I have them?
This particular property does NOT offer Wi-Fi. If you bring an internet dongle with you, the best network is generally Telstra. Otherwise, it's best to use your smartphone only during your stay or find a local cafe that offers free Wi-Fi. The Holidays Collection is committed to getting all owners to provide Wi-Fi at their property, but this is still work in progress!
What about outdoors?
Bimbadgen offers a large lawn right down to Hyams Beach, perfect for the children to run around. There is also a lawn on the street side of the house with plenty of room for games and vehicle parking.
Staying warm or keeping cool?
Bimbadgen has reverse cycle air-conditioning system located in the living room, as well as an oil heater for each bedroom. In summer,the home can also be opened up to catch the sea breeze.
What about sheets, towels and other supplies?
High quality sheets and towels are provided at Bimbadgen. Please bring your own beach towels however.
Parking for cars, boats etc?
The yard is very large on the street side of the house which can easily accommodate four cars and a boat.
Is my dog or cat also welcome to stay?
Bimbadgen is a not a pet friendly property. Please contact us for a list of our many pet-friendly options!
What are the minimum stay rules?
- Summer Season: Between 2 and 7 nights, depending on the property
- Easter: 4 nights
- Long Weekends: 3 nights
- All other times: 2 nights
Are there any special Summer Season rules?
Please note that during Summer Season, our properties may have designated changeover days so as to make the cleaning rosters manageable. We also do not schedule arrivals on the Christmas, Boxing, and New Years Day public holidays.

Great location. Needs wifi and a tumble dryer. And the kitchen windows are dangerous - one came crashing down on my thumb. They need replacing. Otherwise it’s a lovely, traditional beach shack with good bathrooms and a brilliant beach access location.

Comfy accommodation with everything you need and direct access down to the beach via the wooden stairs at the end of the garden. We want there for for a birthday celebration with friends. Very easy check-in system where we can check in straightaway after we arrived. The facility provides more than we ever expected. We utilities all the candles for candle light dinner one night. And say enough about the view and the location as, it was just out of the world , was so mesmerising and outstanding and beautiful ♥️. We utilities Gas Bbq stand Which was very easy to use and cleaned it properly as all the cleaning stuffs and chemicals was all provided by the property. I most love about the frontyard with the ocean view where we all group enjoyed playing games as it is very spacious. As i am sure none of will regret booking this property. As it worth paying it . Much appreciated and will surely visit again in future. For sure. 🥰
If you’re looking for accommodation at Hyams Beach with amazing views and private beach access - look no further. We saw dolphins from the deck every day (and a seal as well!), the sunrise and sunset and sunset views were gorgeous, and it was super easy to pop down to the beach anytime wanted. It’s not the first time we have stayed here, and it certainly won’t be the last.

Old school holiday cottage
Matthew - 23rd February 2017Cannot argue with location, facilities or access to the brilliant sands of Hyams. We love - - about our sixth stay there! BUT - please get the bunk room window fixed (broken sash - wont stay up) and either ceiling fans or pedestal fans for the bedrooms. Would make a heap of difference for the comfort of the rooms on hot days.
