Right on the beach, with a mid-century curated interior! This beautifully renovated 1930’s cottage is the ideal hideaway for couples, with views up Currarong Beach all the way to Penguin Head and around to the beach lagoon.

If you're celebrating a special occasion or if you're just planning a cheeky weekend getaway, Aurora Cottage is set against a perfect backdrop – ocean views, no big-city distractions, relaxing dips in the rockpools, local walking tracks and sunsets over the water.
Currarong has a general store for basic supplies, a café and a bowling club but no other shops so please bring all the nice cheese, wine, platter supplies and other deliciousness with you.
Aurora Cottage is an adult only property. Strictly no parties at this property – please. You will be evicted if this rule is broken.
Summer Season Bookings: mid December to end of January - Minimum 3 night booking
Summer Season bookings are most easily made directly with our Bookings Team. This property has a minimum 3 night booking rule with no specified changeover day.
Where will I be?
Built in the 1930's this original beach cottage is merely metres from the sand in Currarong, a small idyllic and secluded coastal holiday village. Wake each morning listening to the waves; spend the evening watching sunsets over the water, a rarity in eastern Australia.
There are lots of simple and sustainable things to do around Currarong and the Beecroft Peninsula. Visit Honeymoon Bay, one of the secluded Jervis Bay beaches much celebrated on Instagram. Point Perpendicular Lighthouse is a short drive. And the buzz of Huskisson and serenity of Jervis Bay and Jervis Bay National Park aren't far away.
Currarong has a bowling club but no other shops so please bring all the nice cheese, wine, platter supplies & other deliciousness with you.
Why choose Aurora Cottage?
Aurora is a classic seaside cottage from a bygone era, furnished in a fun mid-century style. The front deck is a perfect location to sit and watch the waves and the sunset. A romantic getaway, Aurora has a four-poster queen bedroom, separate bathroom with double shower and a great gourmet kitchen. Be cosy or romantic, right in the heart of this small village.
How is the property laid out?
Aurora is open plan with easy access to the separate bedroom and bathroom. The interior space has white-washed wooden floors and furnishings complimenting the cottage’s history. The well equipped kitchen with stainless steel benchtop has an electric oven, gas cooktop, integrated dishwasher, full-height fridge with separate freezer and a large compliment of kitchen utensils.
The dining area overlooks Currarong Creek lagoon and is a perfect spot to work from if you want to write your novel, dream up your next project or just check your social media!
The bedroom has a four-poster queen bed styled with luxury linen. The beach-themed bathroom has double rainwater shower heads, floor to ceiling ceramic tiles and a pebble floor. An external laundry at the side of the cottage has a washing machine.
Wi-Fi and streaming services - will I have them?
Complimentary Wi-Fi is available and a password will be provided in your pre-arrival email. Please note that neither The Holidays Collection nor the owner can guarantee 100% that Wi-Fi will work, and no compensation will be payable if problematic. If Wi-Fi is important, please therefore always have a backup plan.
What about outdoors?
An elevated veranda offers great views over the calm beach and fascinating rockpools, a great place to laze the day away, do jigsaw puzzles, read, or relax and watch the world go by. A gas BBQ for easy outdoor cooking awaits. Hibiscus flowers in a variety of colours and the coastal plants in the garden will delight.
Keeping warm or keeping cool?
Aurora Cottage takes full advantage of ocean breezes with easy-to-open windows. In cooler times, heaters are available.
What about sheets, towels and other supplies?
Luxurious sheets, pillow cases, doonas, blankets, bath and hand towels are provided all year round. Please remember to bring your own beach towels.
Parking for cars, boats, etc?
Easy off-street parking is provided for 1 car.
Is my dog or cat also welcome to stay?
Aurora is a pet-friendly property - subject to the following rules:
- Only 1 dog is permitted
- Please keep pets off the furniture & out of the bedrooms
- If your pet will be inside at night, please provide bedding
- Please bag and dispose of waste appropriately
- If additional cleaning is required to removed pet hair or dispose of waste a bond claim will be processed
Smoking is strictly not permitted in the Cottage
Please note that The Holidays Collection has a strict non-smoking policy. Please respect this policy by not smoking within or around the Cottage. Thank you.
What are the minimum stay rules?
- Summer Season: Between 2 and 7 nights, depending on the property
- Easter: 4 nights
- Long Weekends: 3 nights
- All other times: 2 nights
Are there any special Summer Season rules?
Please note that during Summer Season, our properties may have designated changeover days so as to make the cleaning rosters manageable. We also do not schedule arrivals on the Christmas, Boxing, and New Years Day public holidays.
Who will I be dealing with during my stay?
This property is professionally managed by a dedicated holiday rental agency with offices in Gerringong, Hyams Beach, Bowral and Kangaroo Valley. We have over 300 properties in Kiama, Gerringong, Gerroa, Berry, Huskisson, Vincentia, Hyams Beach, Kangaroo Valley and the Southern Highlands. We offer guests 24/7 customer service - emergency calls only after hours, please.

Loved our stay at Aurora!
*Margaret D - 6th April 2025We have loved our extended weekend stay at Aurora. A beautifully appointed little cottage in a great location. We've enjoyed some stunning sunsets from the front verandah. We're so appreciative of being able to bring our elderly doggo with us too. Although we discovered the hot water system wasn't working, the caretaker, Steve, was great at sorting out the situation for us. We will definitely be recommending Aurora (& Avalon) to friends & family, & we will be back to stay again (hopefully soon)!

Of note, we accidentally broke two wine glasses. Happy to pay for the replacements. Also, the bbq is missing the ignition switch. I had to use the lighter from pantry draw to light bbq. We had a ball, dogs had a ball, opposite shop to get incidentals, continual water and sunrise and sunset views, quiet, super comfy bed and beautifully decorated ......
