Right on the beach, with a mid-century curated interior! This beautifully renovated 1930’s cottage maintains that retro vibe but you can still plug into the NBN Wi-Fi to stay connected – if you need to! An ideal getaway for up to six family members, with views across the beach reserve, lagoon and rockpools, and is just a few steps across the grass to the sand.

Avalon is set against a perfect backdrop – ocean views, no big-city distractions, relaxing dips in the rockpools, local walking tracks and sunsets over the water. Currarong has a general store for basic supplies, a café and a bowling club but no other shops so please bring all the nice cheese, wine, platter supplies & other deliciousness with you.
Avalon is family friendly with three bedrooms – a master with king bed plus ensuite, another king bedroom and a bunk room. Children are welcome; however, we do not provide cots, high chairs or any other amenities specifically for babies or young children. So whatever you need, please bring it with you! The cottage is not baby proofed but we trust parents’ judgment in regard to this.
Strictly no parties at this property – please. You will be evicted if this rule is broken.

Where will I be?
Built in the 1930’s, this original beach cottage is merely metres from the sand in Currarong, a small idyllic and secluded coastal holiday retreat. Wake each morning listening to the waves; spend the evening watching sunsets over the water, a rarity in eastern Australia. Morning coffee is just a few steps to Zac’s Café. There are lots of simple and sustainable things to do around Currarong and the Beecroft Peninsula. Visit Honeymoon Bay, one of the secluded Jervis Bay beaches much celebrated on social media. Point Perpendicular Lighthouse is a short drive. And the buzz of Huskisson and serenity of Jervis Bay and the Jervis Bay National Park aren’t far away.

Avalon is a classic seaside cottage from a bygone era, furnished in a retro mid-century style. The outdoor shaded deck is a perfect location to sit and watch the waves and the sunset, check your social media or dream up your next project. Maybe even start that novel!
How is the property laid out?
The cottage has open plan kitchen, living and dining areas with easy access to the bedrooms, bathroom and laundry. The interior space has white-washed wooden floors, the bedrooms are carpeted and stylised furnishings compliment the cottage’s history. The well-equipped kitchen has a gas cooktop, electric oven, integrated dishwasher, full-height fridge with separate freezer and a large compliment of kitchen utensils. The large dining room, surrounded by windows is magnificent in the morning sun.
Just off the kitchen is the large master bedroom with king-size bed and adjoining ensuite with double rainwater shower heads, floor to ceiling ceramic tiles and a pebble floor. A hallway leads off from the kitchen to the second king bedroom, two bunkbeds in the third bedroom, the bathroom with separate toilet and the internal laundry containing a large tub, washing machine and dryer.
Wi-Fi, internet, Netflix or pay TV- will I have it?
Avalon provides high-speed internet access via Wi-Fi. A username & password will be provided in your pre-arrival email. Whilst we endeavour to provide this facility 24/7, there is no guarantee of reliability or bandwidth. If internet access is critical during your stay, it’s good to have a Plan B.
What about outdoors?
A shaded elevated deck with dining table and seating for six offers great views over the calm beach and fascinating rockpools, a great place to laze the day away, do jigsaw puzzles, read the paper, enjoy meals or relax and watch the world go by. A gas BBQ for easy outdoor cooking awaits. Tucked away beside the laundry is an outdoor hot/cold shower when you return from the beach.
Keeping warm or keeping cool?
Avalon Cottage takes full advantage of ocean breezes with easy-to-open windows. In cooler times, heaters are available. The large frangipani tree provides shade to the main bedroom in summer and allows the morning sun to flood in during winter.
What about sheets, towels and other supplies?
Luxurious sheets, pillow cases, doonas, blankets, bath and hand towels are provided all year round. Please remember to bring your own beach towels.
Parking for cars, boats, etc?
Easy off-street parking is provided for 1 car.
Avalon is a pet-friendly property - subject to the following rules:
- Only 1 dog is permitted
- Please keep pets off the furniture & out of the bedrooms
- If your pet will be inside at night, please provide bedding
- Please bag and dispose of waste appropriately
- If additional cleaning is required to removed pet hair or dispose of waste a bond claim will be processed
Smoking is strictly not permitted in the Cottage
Please note that The Holidays Collection has a strict non-smoking policy. Please respect this policy by not smoking within or around the Cottage. Thank you.
What are the minimum stay rules?
- Peak Season: Between 2 and 7 nights, depending on the property
- Easter: 4 nights
- Long Weekends: 3 nights
- All other times: 2 nights
Are there any special Peak Season rules?
Please note that during Peak Season, our properties may have designated changeover days so as to make the cleaning rosters manageable. We also do not schedule arrivals on the Christmas, Boxing, and New Years Day public holidays.

The cottage is very well equipped, the furnishings, bedding, linens beautiful and beds super comfy. We mainly lived out on the deck. We found its proximity to cafe across the road a bit busy at first, but you just don’t notice it after Currarong gets in your blood and relaxation takes over. Lovely local walks, fabulous beaches. Pup loved it, as did we. We’ll be back
