Mirriyindi for 9, Berrima
3511 Old Hume Highway, Berrima
Mirriyindi for 9, Berrima - 4pm check out Sundays and Public Holidays, except Summer Season
Down the driveway, under the weeping willow, through the poplar trees and the cherry blossoms, an idyllic and beautifully restored property is awaiting you. Set in just under two acres of lovely country gardens, Mirriyindi is the perfect getaway for small families or couples.
Where will I be?
Mirriyindi is just moments from Berrima. The local towns of Bowral and Mittagong are a 10-15 minute drive away, and wineries and wedding venues are close by.
Why choose Mirriyindi?
This wonderful home has many great features, including a fireplace and country kitchen. Both bedrooms have northerly aspects, en-suites and their own unique style.
How is the property laid out?
The property consists of a main house and two studio cottages.
Mirriyindi (Aboriginal meaning 'where the rainbow ends')
This is the main house and features two queen bedrooms both with en-suites and spacious, light-filled walk-in robes. There's also a large and well-appointed eat-in country kitchen and a separate laundry. Please note that the AGA stove in the kitchen is not functional, there is an electric oven to use instead. The living room has a cozy slow combustion fireplace, flat screen TV, DVD player and a selection of DVDs and books for you to enjoy.
Woongarra (Aboriginal meaning 'sleeping place')
This spacious studio sits beside the pond with serene views across the neighbouring lake. It has a queen bed and a single sofa bed, as well as a funky bathroom and kitchenette.
Noonameena (Aboriginal meaning 'sleeping place among the gums')
Located at the back of the property nestled among the gum trees, this studio cottage is romantic and secluded. It has a queen bed, en-suite and a kitchenette, as well as its own verandah and electric BBQ.
Wi-Fi, Internet, Netflix or Pay TV - will I have it?
Mirriyindi is located in a rural setting, so presently only has 4G internet, not NBN. Complimentary WiFi is available only in the main house, not the cottage, and a password will be provided in your pre-arrival email.
Please note however that neither The Holidays Collection nor the owner can guarantee 100% that the WiFi will work, and no compensation will be payable if problematic. This is especially the case at Mirriyindi which is in a rural setting.
If Wi-Fi is important, please therefore always have a back up plan.
What about outdoors?
There are many great outdoor options at Mirriyindi. The covered verandah off the main cottage kitchen is perfect for an al-fresco dining alternative with it's long trestle table, and there's also an outdoor seating area nearby that catches the sun year round. The gazebo overlooking the garden pond makes for a great photo opportunity, and the grounds are full of places to explore and relax. There is also a gas BBQ available for your use.
Staying warm or keeping cool?
The main cottage is fitted with a wood combustion fire and gas heater for Winter, as well as ceiling fans in the bedrooms for Summer. The two smaller cottages have reverse cycle aircon to keep you cool in the Summer and warm in the Winter.
Please note that the AGA stove in the kitchen is there for aesthetic purposes and is not functional. There is an electric oven to use instead.
What about sheets, towels and other supplies?
Luxury damask bedlinen and cotton bath towels provided.
Parking for cars?
There is plenty of off street parking - you can park up to 4 cars comfortably around Mirriyindi.
Is my dog or cat also welcome to stay?
Sorry, Mirriyindi is not pet friendly. Please contact us for pet friendly options.
Wildlife
Please note that due to the nature and location of this property, wildlife may be about including possums, kangaroos, spiders and snakes. We do whatever we can to keep the property safe and do work with a network of wildlife removal experts, however we cannot guarantee that you will not see any wildlife at the property. If you do, we will use our best endeavours to have the animal removed or to make the property safe, however no compensation whatsoever will be paid for any disturbance caused by wildlife. You must book the property knowing that this risk exists, even though very uncommon.
What are the minimum stay rules?

- All other times: 2 nights
Are there any special Summer Season rules?

Great place to stay
Christine M - 24th September 2024There were only 4 of us staying for the weekend so we had lots of space - but even with another 4 people it would have been big enough. Kitchen well appointed, very comfortable lounge area and great beds. It was too cold to sit outside but there was ample space and amenities. Close enough to Berrima to walk and get coffee and easy to find. Would recommend.
Fabulous
Michelle M - 7th November 2021My family had a wonderful time at Mirriyindi. Great location. Clean and tidy. The grounds were amazing. Thank you we will be back.
We had an amazing weekend away. The accommodation was perfect for our group of 9 and so conveniently located, close to everything we wanted to do! We would definitely stay again.
a great spot for an adult family (and 2 grandkids) to stay while celebrating our daughters wedding at a nearby venue. separate cottages meant that quiet time could be enjoyed by the bride and groom but still be with us! would be great in winter to use the aga and enjoy the cosiness of the property. would be perfect for 4 couples.
Cute place, a little unkept but it was fine for what we needed it for - big rooms with a bathroom each. There is no wifi but it wasn’t too much of a problem.
Gorgeous property close to the shops in Berrima (2 min drive to Gumnut Patisserie). Beautiful kitchen area in the main house and two spacious rooms. Cute self contained cottages that were comfortable for all guests. The outdoor area was lovely during the day - there’s a gazebo, back patio with large table and a few other outdoor areas to sit and enjoy the scenery. The bathrooms were clean and spacious. Only downfall (which was minor) were the spiders I found in my room and bathroom.
Glorious gardens in a heavenly little spot in the countryside. The little cottages are beautifully appointed and provide for a very peaceful stay. Close to Berrima Village and all the benefits of the local food and countryside. A little slice of heaven…
Great getaway
Jens - 22nd June 2020This is a great location for exploring the region and the house and studios are very well appointed, very comfortable and clean and lots of space to walk around the grounds. For a group of friends or family this place is perfect . We will definitely be back.
Beautiful location
Catherine62 - 4th November 2019We stayed here with our adult children and their partners for a family get together- it was perfect. All cottages were very clean and nicely presented. The kitchen was well stock and had most utensils you would need. The ground were lovely with gazebos and trees providing plenty of shade. Would highly recommend this property.
Lovely Property
Karla - 26th October 2019This is a lovely property with two smaller private rooms around the property from the main house. The features were modern, stylish and comfortable. The only strange thing was that a large stove/oven was on in the kitchen that we were not familiar with and we did not know how to turn it off as there were no instructions. The night we stayed it was unseasonably warm and made the house quite hot. Like a sauna in fact. Eventually we managed to work out how to turn it off but having some instructions handy would have been useful. That being said, if it was the middle of winter you probably wouldn’t mind having it on but if it is summer you definitely wouldn’t need it.
Simply perfect
Kathy - 6th August 2019My foodie family found the wonderfully decked-out kitchen in the main cottage to be the perfect hub to cook up feasts for 3 generations. Plus it was 3 minutes to Eschallot where we celebrated an Important Birthday. Cosy fireplace, comfy beds, lanterns to find the way to the two small cottages under the star-filled sky, plus lovely cherry blossoms made for a very pleasant weekend.
A truly stunning property
Tegan - 26th May 2019Very relaxing, beautiful gardens and comfy house. Would highly recommend
Perfect Weekend
IanG - 5th May 2019Mirriyindi was the perfect place for my family (7) to stay for the weekend to attend a wedding at the nearby Bendooley Estate (The Stables). I cannot fault anything. The house and cottages had everything we needed. They were immaculately presented...... Totally recommend to anyone. We will be back.
Family wedding
ppppp - 29th April 2019Family of the groom booking as a base for the groom and groomsmen to prepare for the wedding day. Quality bedding so all slept soundly in the quiet peaceful surrounds. Clean and light filled family kitchen was a delight.
Stunning!!
Karen - 14th March 2019We stayed at the beautiful Mirriyindi (6 adults and 2 kids) for a wedding at the nearby Bendooley estate. Couldn’t fault it. Everyone had their own space, but were able to come together for meals/drinks in the large and homely farmhouse kitchen. Would love to stay again.
Our Wedding!
JinHope - 7th February 2019My husband, and my family stayed over the weekend at Mirriyindi for our wedding and held our intimate wedding there on a Saturday. To say it was a beautiful and memorable wedding would be an under statement! We would do it all over again just to enjoy the amazing time we had at Mirriyindi! Everything was just perfect!
Beautiful, quiet getaway
Kaye46 - 8th October 2018Loved this place! Mirriyindi is a beautiful quiet getaway from the busy world! Our family of four adults, five kids and three fur babies spent a cold, wet but great weekend in three comfy, authentic houses. Each weatherboard house has been thoughtfully decorated with luxurious bed linen and towels. This is the perfect spot for a weekend away with family and/or friends. The main house was our gathering place with a very efficient fireplace with wood provided, a cosy lounge room and comfortable beds. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed including a wonderful AGA that doubled as heating. Woongarra and Noonameena studios are secluded and completely private, great for grandparents. Each house was luxuriously furnished with many special touches. After the initial reaction of no Internet, the kids were surprised to find indoor games and drawing enjoyable and with the occasional outdoor game of Finska when the sun shone through the rain clouds. So many other outdoor games provided. Great location within a short walking distance from the village of Berrima or a 5 minute drive if not feeling energetic. Decked out in rain gear, a walk along the Berrima River was both educational and good fun. We had a wonderfully peaceful and relaxing long weekend in Mirriyindi.a perfect escape from the city. We would highly recommend it. Thank you to our wonderful hosts.
Highly recommended!
Moira - 15th April 2018Adult family stayed for family wedding. Close to all venues. Well appointed. Lovely grounds. Ideal accommodation for extended family or 4 couples.
***** 5 Stars all the way!
Fiona - 3rd April 2018Stop looking. You have found it! Exquisite property and well managed. Thank you so much for adding your special touches for our stay of 8 close friends over 5 nights - delightful & truely memorable. :-)
Highly recommend!
AmyL - 2nd January 2018We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mirriyindi over the new years break. There was plenty of room for the whole group, and all the cottages were very clean and the luxury bedding was wonderful. The country kitchen was well equipped and the fact that we could bring our dog made the trip all the more enjoyable. We will be back!
