Enjoy waterside living from the wonderful Minnamurra home. Sit back on the deck and watch the river change with the tides or explore the nearby sand bar and Mystics Beach. All the amenities you could need are close by, making Riverside Cottage the perfect base to explore the Illawarra and surrounds. If you are travelling with family or friends, check out Riverside Studio. And, for those guests with an EV there is a Tesla compatible charger on site.

Riverside Studio next door is also available for holiday letting. If you have are travelling with friends or family you may like to book the studio as well. It sleeps 4.
Where will I be?
Riverside Cottage has direct access to Minnamurra River. Within easy walking distance you will find cafes and the Minnamurra train station. It is a 3 minute drive to the local IGA, liquor shop and takeaways.
Why choose Riverside Cottage?
Location, location, location! You have everything you could need for your holiday at the tip of your fingers. The Minnamurra River is literally on your doorstep and local amenities are a short walk or drive away.
How is the property laid out?
The cottage has an open plan kitchen living and dining area. The kitchen is equipped with a built in oven, induction cook top, microwave and dishwasher. The living area opens onto the outdoor undercover area. There is a bedroom with a queen bed, air conditioner, ceiling fan and bathroom with a walk in shower. The kitchen has a Nespresso pod coffee machine.
WiFi, Netflix, Pay TV - will I have it?
This property provides complimentary WiFi and a password will be provided in your pre-arrival email, or will be available at the property. Please note however that neither the agency nor the owner can guarantee 100% that the WiFi will work, and no compensation will be payable if problematic. If important, please therefore always have a back up plan.
What about outdoors?
Riverside Cottage is directly on the Minnamurra River. Surf Beach and the bird sanctuary are across the river, and can be accessed via the sand bank at low tide.
Staying warm or keeping cool?
There is underfloor heating and a combustion fire to keep you warm through the winter. The bedroom also has split system air conditioning and a ceiling fan. Finally, the doors and windows have fly screens so you catch the breeze in the summer.
What about sheets, towels and other supplies?
Sheets, pillows, doonas, linen and bath towels are provided at this property. Please however bring your favourite beach towel!
Parking for cars, boats etc?
There is under cover off street parking for one car.
Is my dog or cat also welcome to stay?
Riverside Cottage is a pet friendly property, however please note that the Minnamurra River is not a pet off leash area and dogs are not allowed to swim in the river, or along its banks. You will need to keep you dog on the property or walk it elsewhere. Your pet stay is also subject to the following rules, please:
Please do not allow wet or dirty dogs in or through the house
Absolutely no dogs on the furniture or in the bedrooms
Please bag and dispose of doggy waste appropriately
What are the minimum stay rules?
- Summer Season: Between 2 and 7 nights, depending on the property
- Easter: 4 nights
- Long Weekends: 3 nights
- All other times: 2 nights
Are there any special Summer Season rules?
Please note that during Summer Season, our properties may have designated changeover days so as to make the cleaning rosters manageable. We also do not schedule arrivals on the Christmas, Boxing, and New Years Day public holidays.

The cottage was extremely well equipped with good quality fittings and equipment. It was clean, cosy and super convenient, allowing us to come and go easily into Kiama Downs for grocery shopping and into Kiama proper where our children live. We enjoyed it so much that we've booked again for a stay in September!
This place far exceeded my expectations. From sitting out the front by the waters edge, watching the grabs, little fish and stingray go by, to kayaking up the river and over to the beach, to the coziness of the cottage itself... I assure you, you will not be disappointed with your stay here. Absolutely gorgeous!!! We will 100% be back!!!
This spot was just idyllic! The sun came out on our last day so the 4pm check out came in handy! It was also great to be able to use the SUP, kayak and canoe!
Craig’s place is well set out and provides everything you need for an enjoyable stay. It’s the nicest place I’ve stayed that allows you to take your furry friend. I really don’t want to write too much as I don’t want to make this hidden gem public. Minnamurra river is beautiful and it has a real community feel. Minnamurra is a well maintained suburb. It offers the essential shops and access to great coastal walks. Kiama is near by if you need more. We have a new favourite place and will definitely be back.
best on the river
Helen T - 26th February 2021We think this one bedroom place is the best on the river. Just a few stairs down to the river to walk across to the sandbank at low tide and enjoy swimming at high tide. The deck is well set up with table chairs and BBQ - perfect for watching the sun rise and set, plus the procession of others enjoying the river. The apartment is clean and well furnished. We love this place and will be back. Our dog had a wonderful time too - swimming, playing on the sand, watching fish. Perfect!
Can not wait to return to the cottage, perfect location, perfect stay.

This was our second stay at Riverside Cottage and it won’t be our last. Spectacular location and amenities. Kitchen is really well equipped, comfortable bed, lovely shower and fantastic undercover patio with good size table and chairs. Did I mention the new Weber Q? The owners have not skimped and it shows. Netflix and WIFI. Nespresso coffee machine available but bring your own pods. See you soon.
This modest cottage is three steps from the Minnamurra River. With sunny weather it would be a dream location. In the rain it was a little diminished as the outside awning wasn’t waterproof so everything was wet the whole time, trapping us inside. Bar for some cleaning implements left in the shower, it was neatly presented. The sofa could do with replacing, but I otherwise was happy with the furnishings. I loved all the area-specific art, particularly the aerial photos of the river mouth so you could see where the sand banks were. The kitchen was well-equipped and nicely presented. We did have a problem with the septic system not flushing well and this adding an unpleasant smell necessitating air conditioning all weekend. I am told this will be attended to. Would recommend despite hiccups.

A well appointed cottage - the outlook and position on the River could not be bettered (unless you were staying on a houseboat!) So relaxing just sitting and watching the River with its amazing tidal changes, and the wildlife passing by. A choice of watercraft on hand . . . we used the canoe
Wow this place is magic. Only metres from the river with an amazing view & easy access to get in the water. Great facilities in the cottage. Comfortable bed & furniture & newly renovated. The use of stand up paddle board, fishing kayak, canoe etc. a big plus! Loved our stay & would recommend as a couple & our miniature poodle loved it too.

Comfortable bed, great shower, luxe linen & towels & all modern kitchen facilities for your use. The access to the river is something very special to have outside your door with use of paddle board, kayak, canoe or dinghy. We love the getaway!
What a gem of a property! We had the most incredible weekend in mirramurra. The cottage was literally on the water and had amazing views. Such a beautiful spot. The kitchen was very well equipped. All in all a fantastic weekend and we will definitely be returning !
We had such a lovely stay at riverside cottage. We could tell from the photos that it was going to be close to the water, but we had no idea how lovely it would be - waking up looking out on the river, swimming straight from the deck & canoeing down to the beach. We really hope to come back!

The location speaks for itself while you do as much or as little as you wish with so many amenities at hand including a paddle board, dinghy and canoe all for use.
