Shanti is a comfortable, well priced cottage that has a lovely gardens, especially at the rear. The house is pet friendly and has a fully fenced back garden. Linen and towels are supplied and you are only 200 metres from Boat Ramp beach. This home is suitable for a maximum of 8 adults.
Strictly no parties at this property – please. You will be evicted if this rule is broken.
Peak Season Bookings: 13 Dec 2024 and 23 Jan 2025 - Minimum 7 night booking - Arrival and departure on a Friday. If booking online, please search for vacancies with Friday being the arrival and departure day. Peak Season bookings are most easily made directly with our Bookings Team.
Where will I be?
Nestled towards the top of HyamRoad (a quiet cul-de-sac) and adjoining a lovely creek and natural bushland, Shanti is centrally located relative to the various beaches and the cafe.

Shanti has a lovely rear garden, good decking and is a safe, pet friendly option as well.
How is the property laid out?
Shanti is a double storey home. The front door is on ground level and opens into a good sized lounge and tv area, with a door leading through to a queen bedroom. A shower, loo and laundry are also located on this level, near the rear door that leads out to the back garden. Upstairs the house has a dining room, kitchen, second shower and toilet,three bedrooms, and an internal sunroom / balcony. The main queen room has its own adjoining deck overlooking the back garden and the creek. There is then a second queen bedroom and a third bedroom with a bunk bed and single bed (sleeping three). The house is north facing with good natural light upstairs.
WiFi, Internet, Netflix or Pay TV - will I have it?
This property does have Wi-Fi and a username and password will be provided for that in your pre-arrival email. You may use the house WiFi with no guarantee of reliability or bandwidth by us or the owner. If internet access is critical during your stay, please make sure that you have a Plan B!
What about outdoors?
Shanti adjoins a creek and its riverine bush at the rear of the property. There are lovely bush aspects from nearly all parts of the house, and the rear garden is a lovely area to sit and relax under the trees.
Staying warm or keeping cool?
Shanti comes with a pedestal fan and wood fireplace.
What about sheets, towels and other supplies?
Shanti provides linen and bath towels. Please however remember to bring your own beach towels!
Parking for cars, boats etc?
There is space for two cars in the driveway in addition to a reinforced grass parking space in the front garden.
Is my dog or cat also welcome to stay?
Shanti is a pet friendly property, subject to the following rules:
- Please do not allow wet or dirty dogs in or through the house, please keep all dogs downstairs, and absolutely no dogs are allowed on the furniture or in the bedrooms.
- If your dog will be inside at night, please provide bedding in the downstairs bathroom / laundry.
- Part of the yard is fully fenced, but you are responsible for your dog at all times.
- Please bag and dispose of doggy waste appropriately.
- Please clean up dog hairs or anything else inside the house before your departure.
Is there any special information I should know about?
Due to the bedding configuration this property is suitable for 6 adults and 3 children. Thank you for respecting this when booking!
What are the minimum stay rules?
- Peak Season: Between 2 and 7 nights, depending on the property
- Easter: 4 nights
- Long Weekends: 3 nights
- All other times: 2 nights
Are there any special Peak Season rules?
Please note that during Peak Season, our properties may have designated changeover days so as to make the cleaning rosters manageable. We also do not schedule arrivals on the Christmas, Boxing, and New Years Day public holidays.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. When we arrived we were surprised how clean and cosy the house was. Very conveniently located. Just a short walk to the beach and a quick drive to the shops. Would highly recommend this place.

We love Shanti at Hyams. There is a well stocked games shelf and the garden is pretty special too. The house is a great space for a family holiday.

We stayed at Shanti at Hyams beach over the last weekend. The location of the house was as promised, it is set in very close proximity to the beautiful Hyams Beach and the neighborhood was very peaceful. However, the accommodation itself was in a poor condition. The house was dirty ( Hairs on the floor, blood stains on bed sheets and towels). The doors of the bedrooms area hazard as they cannot get opened properly and ppl got locked in the room. Price is to high for the dirt accommodation.
Great location just up the road from the beach, with several lovely walking trails very closeby. Really comfortable, lots of games and other thoughtful touches like a beach umbrella and trolley. The property has 2 levels so maybe not ideal of you have little people that aren't good with stairs.
This house was in a great location - very accessible to the beach! While the location is great, and the Holidays Collection were fantastic hosts in the lead up to our stay I would like to mention a few easy improvements to make the house an even more pleasant stay. There is no pantry storage in the kitchen - what appeared to be the pantry was locked. As this property can accommodate for up to 8 guests, we resorted to storing all our pantry goods on a small side table or on the dining table itself. The fridge was small - for up to 8 people over 4 days, it meant that we couldn't store all of the food, drinks, water bottles, etc we had purchased in the fridge. It would be worthwhile adding a larger fridge to this space to accomodate for the number of people that it can hold. The door handles on the upstairs bedrooms were loose to the point they were almost falling off. These should be fixed ASAP. The dishwasher worked in some instances. Other times, the dishwasher would sound like it had started, but when we went to unload it, none of the dishes were washed. It may need a service. The window above the sink is breaking. The pane is coming apart from the glass. We opened it on arrival and closed it on departure, but this should also be fixed ASAP. The bedrooms and living spaces were clean, however, there were cobwebs in the corner of the downstairs bedroom (near the cupboard) which should be cleaned. The outsides of the windows could be cleaned as well, as there were cobwebs on most visible external windows. There was 1 fan in the kitchen and 1 pedestal fan throughout the house. We had to bring our own pedestal fans for each room - this would be a great touch for the property to include, especially given this is a beach house with warmer weather. Other than these points, the house was a great place to stay - the beach umbrella and beach buggie were great added bonuses. The BBQ was also great to use.
Close to the beach. A real beach holiday home. Great time. Get up just before sunrise (when it’s still dark) and go for a walk. you’ll more than likely spot kangaroos roaming the streets

Sharni was well appointed- beds surprisingly comfy. And a great selection of games etc. My only gripes are about cleanliness. Bedside table was smeared with something (obviously not cleaned) and outside balcony had greasy smear of dirt in a big patch. Outside picnic table area looked on to a mass of dirty cobwebs and grunge on the south wall. A bit disappointing for the price we paid.

Great location and good rooms and plenty of space for a large group/family. We were a family of four and my parents (so four adults and 2 children) and everyone had lots of space. The banister between the eating area and the stairs going downstairs doesn't feel the safest (the bars are spaced quite far apart). Lots of outside spaces but not one big space to all sit/eat together. Great location and from our research good value in the area.
