Where will I be?
The Lakehouse is located beside a grassy waterfront reserve at Erowal Bay, a lovely little village adjacent to Jervis Bay National Park and just five minutes to Booderee National Park and the white sands of Hyams Beach. Erowal Bay, pronounced more like “Erroll Bay” by the locals, has a small general store, post office and bottle shop. The Vincentia Home Co shopping centre is only 5 minutes away, and you are just a short drive to Huskisson. Although you are close to all Jervis Bay has to offer, Erowal Bay’s peaceful location seems far from the holiday crowd. We call it our secret paradise!
Why choose Lakehouse?
The Lakehouse is a relaxing & unique coastal haven! The expansive living room in the heart of the home has floor to ceiling glass windows and looks directly onto Erowal Bay. In the afternoons and evenings, with its western outlook, it is perfect for viewing Erowal Bay’s spectacular waterfront sunsets while enjoying evening barbecues or sitting around the fire pit roasting marshmallows.
In summer, the nearby beaches of Jervis Bay will beckon, but children can also paddle directly in our shallow foreshore while you watch and relax nearby. The grassy waterfront reserve is perfect for picnics and playing lawn games. If you are a nature lover, keep an eye out for Jervis Bay’s prolific birdlife with parrots, blue wrens or the bay’s resident ducks and pelicans. You might also spot our resident possum or kangaroos, bandicoots or echidnas wandering about. If all that is not enough, you can always explore the bay using our youth and adult sized kayaks.
How is the property laid out?
The house sleeps up to 12 with a maximum of 8 adults. The main living area offers a large dining table with 8 chairs, a 3 seater sofa, 3 armchairs, 2 bean bags, a bookshelf and a central wood fire. The large well equipped kitchen has a smaller dining table with 4 chairs. The bathrooms and laundry are also well equipped. The front of the house has a large bedroom with a queen size bed and sun lounge, another bedroom with a double bed and armchair, and a bunk room for six with a 2 seater sofa. At the back of the house leading off the verandah is a delightful adults' retreat with water views, a queen size bed, a two seater sofa and an ensuite. There is a large grassed front yard and a smaller backyard which overlooks the expansive grass reserve and bay.
WiFi, Internet, Netflix or Pay TV - will I have it?
This property does have Wi-Fi and a username and password will be provided in your pre-arrival email. You may use the house WiFi, with no guarantee of reliability or bandwidth by us or the owner. If internet access is critical during your stay, please make sure that you have a Plan B!
What about outdoors?
There is plenty of room to relax on the back porch while watching the kids play cricket on the waterfront reserve. There is a picnic table with benches to enjoy evening BBQs overlooking the water's edge. The property has some boat craft and/or canoes under the house that you are free to use. If boats or watercraft are used, please be aware this is totally at your own risk and you will be responsible for any loss or damage.
Staying warm or keeping cool?!
There is ducted reverse cycle air conditioning throughout the house. The wood fire will keep you cosy and warm during winter. Firewood is provided. Abundant louvre windows through-out the property let in any hint of breeze creating a refreshing air flow.
What about sheets, towels and other supplies?
High quality sheets and towels are provided at Lakehouse at Erowal Bay. Please bring your own beach towels.
Parking for cars, boats etc?
There is enough parking for three cars in the driveway.
Is my dog or cat also welcome to stay?

What are the minimum stay rules?
There is a minimum two night stay for all bookings, which changes to seven night blocks during the peak period. The peak period runs from mid-December to end of the Australia Day long weekend in January. Easter also requires a minimum four night stay and a minimum three nights during all long-weekends.
Are there any special Peak Season rules?
Please note that during the peak period our properties have designated changeover days so as to make the rosters manageable for our cleaners. We also do not schedule arrivals on the Christmas, Boxing, and New Years Day public holidays.

Cherished Memoriesodessa Saukuru - 13th November 2021
The photos do not do, this property justice. The cabin setting with it's decor set the mood and atmosphere for fun, laughter and lasting memories with loved one. Memories that can only be created in this environment. Having the fire set the tone and ambience for the weekend. Highly recommended this property..
SensationalPip Mills - 2nd March 2021
Our stay at The Lakehouse was sensational. The house had everything and more. We didn't have any issues and everything we needed was there. Thank you for having us for the Husky Triathlon weekend. I would definitely book The Lakehouse again.
Sensational place to stay over the weekend. The house was very stylish and had everything that we needed and more. Would definitely stay here again.
Amazing place. So open and spacious, all the decor was incredible. The photos didn’t do it justice. Perfect location right on the lake and only a 5 minute drive from Hyams beach. The stay blew out expectations we will definitely be rebooking!
Suits a layered family (grandparents to three year olds), great area in the dining/lounge for playing games. The outside grassed area leading to the lake was very tidy and we used it a lot.
Perfect holiday HouseJennifer Tighe - 10th January 2021
This house is wonderful. Is so well stoked with everything you could possibly need, comfortable with gorgeous views and close to the beautiful local beaches. We loved the daily visits from the kangaroos.
Lovely log cabin in a superb location only 10 minutes drive from beautiful beaches in the National Park and Huskisson. Very cosy feel and beautiful outlook onto lake with lots of space for kids to play cricket etc. Only drawbacks were sharing one bathroom in the main part of the house for 3 rooms (as the main bedroom is slightly separate) and bringing our own linen (which we were aware of). We still really enjoyed our stay and would stay again!
A fantastic houseSamantha - 22nd May 2018
A fantastic house for a group. The open fire is the fantastic centrepiece of the house. Thank you for your great hospitality and space.

We absolutely loved our stay and the Log Cabin. Picture perfect views, the cabin has a huge amount of character and the kids loved it as much as us. We loved the lake and the canoes are a bonus. Thanks we will definitely be back.
Great time at The Log CabinMark - 28th July 2016
We had a great time at the Log Cabin. We stayed in the middle of winter so we made good use of the fire! Plenty of room for kids to play outside and a great view from the rear verandah. Erowal Bay is a nice quite town but still very close to everything. Tayce was very easy to deal with, everything was as described and we didn't have to worry about anything.
