Unwind in stylish comfort! This tastefully renovated and well furnished home adjoining the Jervis Bay National Park has an enormous deck with views, views, views! Close to the beach, but far enough from the crowds, Unwind at Hyams Beach will draw you back again and again.
Please note:
Unwind has a steepish driveway, but is easily navigable if you take care.
Strictly no parties at this property – please. You will be evicted if this rule is broken.
Summer Season Bookings: 13 Dec 2024 and 23 Jan 2025 - Minimum 7 night booking - Arrival and departure on a Sunday. If booking online, please search for vacancies with Sunday being the arrival and departure day. Summer Season bookings are most easily made directly with our Bookings Team.
Where will I be?
Unwind at Hyams is located on the uphill side of Tulip Street, equidistant to Little Hyams and Chinamans Beach. The cottage is a relaxed beach house with expansive views over Jervis Bay. The new large deck has a commanding position allowing easy outdoor living in a private protected space. There is also a good garden for the kids which adjoins native bushland at the rear of the property.
Why choose Unwind?
Unwind has amazing views, a good garden, and is casual and comfortable. It offers great value for money and is a great option either for couples or a family.
How is the property laid out?
Unwind is accessed from sliding doors off the new front deck. There is space for parking two cars under the deck. The door opens into open plan lounge / kitchen / dining area. The main bedroom is at the front of the house. The second bedroom is located off the lounge area and the third new large bedroom is in a quiet location at the back of the house.
Wi-Fi, Internet, Netflix or Pay TV - will I have it?
This particular property does not offer Wi-Fi. If you bring an internet dongle with you, the best network is generally Telstra. Otherwise, it's best to use your smartphone only during your stay or find a local cafe that offers free Wi-Fi. The Holidays Collection is committed to getting all owners to provide Wi-Fi at their property, but this is still work in progress!
What about outdoors?
Unwind has a good, mostly natural garden. The new large deck has views over the whole of the bay and to the bush at the rear of the property. The deck has an outdoor table with seating for eight and a gas barbecue for your use.
Staying warm or keeping cool?!
Unwind is equipped with a gas heater in the main living area of the house. In addition, each bedroom is fitted with an electric bar heater. On warmer days, the house can be opened up to catch the breeze, but there is also a pedestal fan supplied.
What about sheets, towels and other supplies?
Linen and bath towels are provided at Unwind. Though please remember to bring your favourite beach towels!
Parking for cars, boats etc?
Unwind has ample off street parking.
Is my dog or cat also welcome to stay?
Unwind is not pet friendly. Please contact us for a list of our many pet-friendly options!
What are the minimum stay rules?
- Summer Season: Between 2 and 7 nights, depending on the property
- Easter: 4 nights
- Long Weekends: 3 nights
- All other times: 2 nights
Are there any special Summer Season rules?
Please note that during Summer Season, our properties may have designated changeover days so as to make the cleaning rosters manageable. We also do not schedule arrivals on the Christmas, Boxing, and New Years Day public holidays.

Beautiful holiday home

Truly the best place to Unwind
Susan K - 10th August 2023A very quiet and comfortable beach house elevated above the streets with a sweeping view from Bowen Island around the main beach to Chinamans Beach. We loved sitting on the wide outdoor deck where there is a large dining table and comfortable chairs. The house is well heated by a gas fire and during the sunny winter days a sea breeze came into the house from the doors onto the deck. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with a.excellent Bosch cooker. An added bonus are the 2 new full bathrooms

Easy walk to the cafe . 10min walk max from one end of town to the other. House had great gas heater for the few chilly times overnight. Great deck.

We had such an amazing stay at this property for our group summer holiday. The house itself was much nicer then we expected based off the photos, and the deck was just perfect for us. We also utilized the back yard a lot, which also was so much better then the photos. Perfect location, far enough back from the Hyams Beach traffic but close enough to walk down to the beach and cafe. Loved it!
We had an amazing stay in this beautiful property. The view from the outdoor dining area was very special. The house is well styled, comfortable and a beautiful place to stay for a relaxing coastal break. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend.

Colleen - 30th January 2018The house is fantastic for a holiday away. The views are spectacular, the house is clean and comfortable. Its the perfect size for a family or two couples with two lovely bathrooms and three good-sized bedrooms. The kitchen is very well equipped with good quality kitchenware everything you need if you are doing some serious cooking (theres also an excellent BBQ). But there is also food delivery to Hyams Beach or you can pick up some food from the Caf down the road if you dont want to cook. You could sit for hours on the covered deck in the hammock relaxing and listening to the sound of the birds and the waves. Lovely place. Well be back!
