This pretty country cottage has been built to provide a comfortable stay with a low ecological impact. This has been achieved with a water tank, low energy hot water system and enviro cycle septic system. The cottage makes use of recycled timber, windows and materials. This gives the cottage wonderful personality without compromising comfort.

** Where will I be? **

Eco Cottage is located within the Little Forest complex, a collection of 7 cottages spread across 40 acres of grounds. Your cottage will have its own private spaces, but please be aware that other guests may be around as well. Communal spaces include the lawns, gardens, driveway and trails, but you will have plenty of privacy as well. The Little Forest complex has a bush setting and is circled on one side by the Sydney – Melbourne railway line. As a result, trains are audible at times, and for any kids, part of the fun! Little Forest also has various throughout its 42 acres, but please keep children supervised at all times due to wildlife, unfenced dams and trains.

** Why choose EcoCottage? **

Eco Cottage is a charming and comfortable base from which to explore the Southern Highlands. Set amongst beautiful gardens and removed from other cottages on the property, Eco Cottage feels like a secluded and comfortable getaway.

** How is the property laid out? **

Eco Cottage is reached down a tree-lined country drive way. You approach the house through beautiful gardens and enter into a charming country kitchen and dining area. The front door opens into the open plan living, dining and kitchen area. The bathrooms leads off from the living area. Upstairs is the bedroom with double bed and single bed. Outside is a wrap around verandah with barbeque and seating for four. The railway line is close by so you will see the occasional train go by.

** Wi-Fi, Internet, Netflix or Pay TV will I have it? **

This particular property does NOT offer Wi-Fi. If you bring an internet dongle with you, the best network is generally Telstra. Otherwise, it’s best to use your smartphone only during your stay or find a local cafe that offers free Wi-Fi. The Holidays Collection is committed to getting all owners to provide Wi-Fi at their property, but this is still work in progress!

** What about outdoors? **

Eco Cottage is surrounded by lawns and gardens that are open for guests to use. The house is part of a larger 40 acre property which includes bush trails for guests to explore. Please be aware that there is an unfenced dam on the property so children must be supervised at all times.

** Keeping warm or keeping cool?! **

Eco Cottage has electric radiators and free standing fans.

** What about sheets, towels and other supplies? **

High quality sheets and towels are provided at Eco Cottage.

Toilet paper, kitchen soaps, guest soaps and some other supplies are also provided, but please be prepared to top up during your stay as needed. Regarding food, condiments and the like, please plan to bring everything you need. For safety and hygiene reasons, our houses generally do not supply food items.

** Parking for cars, boats etc? **

There is off street driveway parkingavailable for multiple cars directly outside Eco Cottage.

** Is my dog or cat also welcome to stay? **

The second double bedroom at the Black Shack is accessed via the master bedroom or the rear deck and is therefore only suited to a close family member or friend. It is separated with a sliding door for privacy. And finally, one of the public entrances to the beach is next door to this property, however privacy is totally maintained by a 2m high fence.

Where will I be?

The Black Shack is in the best location in Hyams Beach. It is merely metres from the sand, with private access from the garden. Spend the evening listening to the waves, and wake each morning to an incredible sunrise over Jervis Bay. Enjoy a gentle stroll along the beach and visit the famous Hyams Beach Cafe which is only a short walk up the road.

How is the property laid out?

The Black Shack is completely open plan and the design elements flow through into each of the clearly defined areas. The interior space has lime-washed wooden floors and stylised furnishings complimentary to the black interior throughout. The well equipped kitchen has an electric oven, ceramic cooktop, integrated dishwasher and bar fridge with freezer. The open screened master bedroom has a queen bed styled with luxury linen. The small second bedroom with a double bed is accessed via the master or, for greater privacy, from one of the rear decks. The walk-in wet room has floor to ceiling concrete tiles and complimentary Aesop toiletries are provided for guest use, making the Black Shack a truly opulent experience. There is an external European style laundry on the side of the front deck with both washing machine and clothes dryer.

The Black Shack has both Wi-Fi and Chromecast has been attached to the TV.

What about outdoors?

An elevated series of rear decks provide breath-taking views of Point Perpendicular, Bowen Island and the glistening waters of Jervis Bay. The large garden is part gravel and part lush lawn. Selective use of screens, border trees and the surrounding forest create a sense of complete privacy. A hot/cold outdoor shower is well positioned beside the back decks.

Keeping warm or keeping cool?!

The Black Shack has reverse cycle air-conditioning in the main space, comfortably heating or cooling the entire home. There is also a ceiling fan in the master bedroom.

What about sheets, towels and other supplies?

Luxurious pure cotton and linen sheets, towels and luxury Aesop bathroom toiletries are provided at the Black Shack. Please bring your own beach towels however.

Parking for cars, boats etc?

Off street parking for up to 2 cars is provided. Parking is restricted to the gravel driveway, and there is to be no parking on the grass.

Is my dog or cat also welcome to stay?

Sorry, the Black Shack is not pet friendly.

What are the minimum stay rules?

There is a minimum two night stay for all bookings, which changes to three nights on long weekends, four nights at Easter and seven night blocks during peak season. Peak season runs from mid-December to the end of the Australia Day long weekend in January.

Please note that during peak season, our properties have designated changeover days to make the cleaning rosters manageable. We also do not schedule arrivals on the Christmas, Boxing, and New Years Day public holidays.

Alexandra Suite is located just a short walk from the steps which take you onto the northern end of Seven Mile Beach, Gerroa. Gerringong is a seven minute minute drive away with a great selection of cafes, shops and some restaurants or 13 minutes in the other direction is Berry with even more shops, cafes and award winning restaurants.

Alexandra Suite is a fully self-contained garden studio apartment. The tiled floor throughout and glass sliding doors beautifully frame the stunning ocean view. There is a lawned garden area with secluded BBQ courtyard and it is easy walking distance to the beach.

** How is the property laid out? **

Alexandra Suite is a studio apartment. The open plan sleeping area has one queen bed set into a recess at the back of the living area, with a compact ensuite. There is a comfortable sitting area with flat screen TV, DVD player and Foxtel. The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, microwave, fridge.

Please also be aware that there is another unit upstairs which may be occupied during your stay.

** What about outdoors? **

There is an unfenced grass area and under cover table and chairs at the front of the property with secluded BBQ courtyard around the side.

** WiFi, Netflix, Pay TV – will I have it? **

Sorry, this property does not provide WiFi. Please make alternative arrangements, or plan to switch off and fully relax during your stay!

Alexandra Suite has reverse cycle air conditioning in the living area and a ceiling fan. A portable heater is also available in the Winter months.
