Where will I be?
Eco Cottage is located within the Little Forest complex, a collection of 7 cottages spread across 40 acres of grounds. Your cottage will have its own private spaces, but please be aware that other guests may be around as well. Communal spaces include the lawns, gardens, driveway and trails, but you will have plenty of privacy as well. The Little Forest complex has a bush setting and is circled on one side by the Sydney - Melbourne railway line. As a result, trains are audible at times, and for any kids, part of the fun! Little Forest also has various throughout its 42 acres, but please keep children supervised at all times due to wildlife, unfenced dams and trains.
Why choose EcoCottage?
Eco Cottage is a charming and comfortable base from which to explore the Southern Highlands. Set amongst beautiful gardens and removed from other cottages on the property, Eco Cottage feels like a secluded and comfortable getaway.
How is the property laid out?
Eco Cottage is reached down a tree-lined country drive way. You approach the house through beautiful gardens and enter into a charming country kitchen and dining area. The front door opens into the open plan living, dining and kitchen area. The bathrooms leads off from the living area. Upstairs is the bedroom with double bed and single bed. Outside is a wrap around verandah with barbeque and seating for four. The railway line is close by so you will see the occasional train go by.
Wi-Fi, Internet, Netflix or Pay TV will I have it?
This particular property does NOT offer Wi-Fi. If you bring an internet dongle with you, the best network is generally Telstra. Otherwise, it's best to use your smartphone only during your stay or find a local cafe that offers free Wi-Fi. The Holidays Collection is committed to getting all owners to provide Wi-Fi at their property, but this is still work in progress!
What about outdoors?
Eco Cottage is surrounded by lawns and gardens that are open for guests to use. The house is part of a larger 40 acre property which includes bush trails for guests to explore. Please be aware that there is an unfenced dam on the property so children must be supervised at all times.
Keeping warm or keeping cool?!

Viewing the cottage as we drove towards it was very special. The rustic exterior so charming we were keen to see what awaited us inside. We were not disappointed. The kitchen and other furnishings added to the quaint ambiance. It was a delight to see the bedroom upstairs. We were kept well and truly warm with heater and an electric blanket. Downstairs the bathroom was a pleasure to use, the vanity in particular keeping with the era.
Great cottage and very private.Sally Goodchild - 17th April 2022
We loved Eco Cottage. It was set slightly away from the other properties and we liked that. It's very close to the rail line and the trains went past regularly but after a while, we hardly even noticed them. The house is probably good for 2 people, 3 might be a bit of a squash. Facilities are minimal but it suited us. Fabulous location looking out on to bush land and with some lovely walks

Hi, I stayed at the Eco Cottage, in Little Forest in Mittagong over the weekend. The property was lovely.
The Eco Cottage was a lovely and very private place to stay. It's a rustic and homely cottage that you can take your dog to, which was a nice and refreshing change. There is a train line right next to the cottage, which may bother some, but not us. Would stay again :)
Although the place is beside a train line where trains are a bit loud, it is a welcome balance between the serenity of the area. Saw bunnies, roos and butterflies in the front yard during our stay. Enjoyed star and moon gazing at night with the whole family on the top terrace. Will definitely come back!
Quaint and cozy stay with the dogsErin Ditterick-booth - 28th December 2020
This little eco-cottage is small but covered all our needs and is super cute. Even though the cottage is small, the kitchen, bathroom, living area and sleeping area felt roomy with all the necessities. The lawn is huge and away from the other properties. We found it a breeze to get into Mittagong and Bowral. We found it easy to get in touch with the property management prior to the stay and they were very welcoming of our furry friends. Staying in the Eco-cottage was a delightful experience
beautiful cottage . convenient location
We had a lovely time in this wonderful retreat. I would recommend to bring some ear plugs as the train is quite loud. Worth it though!
Our little family had an amazing time thanks to this beautiful experience in this "fairy tale" Eco cottage. Our son absolutely adored the trains passing by and bush walks around this peaceful property. We'd love to come back.
