Oatley Cottage, Alpine, Southern Highlands - 4pm check out Sundays and Public Holidays, except Summer Season
Oatley Cottage was originally built in 1910 in the Sydney suburb of Oatley. It was transported to Little Forrest in 2009 and lovingly restored. The cottage has a wonderful homely feel to it and is a wonderful retreat to come home to after a day exploring the Southern Highlands.
Where will I be?
Oatley Cottage is located within the Little Forest complex, a collection of 7 cottages spread across 40 acres of grounds. Your cottage will have its own private spaces, but please be aware that other guests may be around as well. Communal spaces include the lawns, gardens, driveway and trails, but you will have plenty of privacy as well. The Little Forest complex has a bush setting and is circled on one side by the Sydney - Melbourne railway line. As a result, trains are audible at times, and for any kids, part of the fun! Little Forest also has various throughout its 42 acres, but please keep children supervised at all times due to wildlife, unfenced dams and trains.

Lovely
Nicola G - 18th July 2024Lovely stay. Heading back end of August. Felt like home. Heavenly!
We were pretty happy
Kim - 6th December 2022The property is really lovely. Grounds were wonderful for our family which included five grandchildren. Lots of fun outdoors. A couple of things would be helpful. The size of the fridge in Oatley Cottage is small for a cottage that sleeps 8 guests. Also the French Doors need some maintenance. Having said that we would stay again.
Comfortable cottage in beautiful grounds
Robyn W - 21st May 2022We stayed at Oatley Cottage for 2 nights to attend a wedding at Grow Wild which is only 5 minutes down the road. Our family had a very comfortable stay and enjoyed the period features of this lovely old cottage. The toddlers loved running around the large enclosed yard. The beds were comfortable and the shower fantastic. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed lovely long breakfasts overlooking the grounds.
Oatley Cottage review
Christina - 20th March 2022Very comfortable cottage in a beautiful location with a manicured garden. Well equipped on the whole.
So beautiful and peaceful.
Deanne M - 23rd May 2021Oakley Cottage was the perfect location for my husband and I to go to get away with our 2 year old Cavoodle. The property was quiet, peaceful and our dog loved running and playing in the fenced yard. There was some train noise but it didn’t bother us at all. The cottage has an old world feel which we loved; things like a claw foot bath, ceramic kitchen sink and beautiful old style falcon oven that I wish was in my house. The fireplace was perfect. Great base to explore the Southern Highlands.
Lovely, lovely property.
Sense of space
Deanna R - 11th April 2021We had a beautiful stay at Oatley and loved the charm of the cottage. The gardens were a stand-out and our dog adored running around the massive fenced yard. The layout of the cottage means the gardens can be seen from wherever you're standing inside. We had evening visits from kangaroos and the kids paid multiple visits to the neighbouring ponies and alpacas. Thanks for a very relaxing holiday.
Perfect getaway with friends
Lance R - 2nd February 2021We found Oakley cottage to be the perfect getaway for us and our friends. The living area is very generous and beautifully decorated in keeping with a stylish country cottage. It was the perfect retreat after a day of touring the region and exploring the wineries
