Orchard Cottage, Alpine, Southern Highlands - 4pm check out Sundays and Public Holidays, except Summer Season
Orchard Cottage is a two storey cottage set in the orchard of Little Forrest. The cottage has a warm, rustic ambience and is comfortable for groups up to four people. Downstairs is a wonderful social area, consisting of the kitchen and living area. Combined with a wood heater, this is the perfect area to curl up with a book or to watch a movie. Upstairs is a large combined sleeping area with bathroom.
Where will I be?
Orchard Cottage is located within the Little Forest complex, a collection of 7 cottages spread across 42 acres of grounds. Your cottage will have its own private spaces, but please be aware that other guests may be around as well. There are two other cottages as well as the Angas Carriage in immediate proximity to your cottage so please do expect to occasionally see your neighbours. Communal spaces include the lawns, gardens, driveway and trails, but you will have plenty of privacy as well. The Little Forest complex has a bush setting and is circled on one side by the Sydney - Melbourne railway line. As a result, trains are audible at times, and for any kids, part of the fun! Little Forest also has various trails throughout its 42 acres, but please keep children supervised at all times due to wildlife, unfenced dams and trains.

Orchard Cottage has a wonderful cozy feel to it and is a wonderful retreat to come home to after a day exploring the Southern Highlands.
How is the property laid out?
Orchard Cottage is reached down a tree-lined country drive way. You approach the house through beautiful gardens and enter into a compact living area and country kitchen. Upstairs is the bedroom with king bed and two separate single beds. The bathrooms is also located upstairs.
Wi-Fi, Internet, Netflix or Pay TV will I have it?
This particular property does NOT offer Wi-Fi. If you bring an internet dongle with you, the best network is generally Telstra. Otherwise, it's best to use your smartphone only during your stay or find a local cafe that offers free Wi-Fi. The Holidays Collection is committed to getting all owners to provide Wi-Fi at their property, but this is still work in progress!
What about outdoors?
Orchard Cottage is surrounded by lawns and gardens that are open for guests to use. The house is part of a larger 40 acre property which includes bush trails for guests to explore. Please be aware that there is an unfenced dam on the property so children must be supervised at all times.
Keeping warm or keeping cool?
Orchard Cottage has a slow combustion fireplace downstairs and a reverse cycle air conditioner upstairs.
What about sheets, towels and other supplies?
High quality sheets and towels are provided at Orchard Cottage.
Toilet paper, kitchen soaps, guest soaps and some other supplies are also provided, but please be prepared to top up during your stay as needed. Regarding food, condiments and the like, please plan to bring everything you need. For safety and hygiene reasons, our houses generally do not supply food items.
Parking for cars, boats etc?
There is an off street open air driveway parking space immediately outside Orchard Cottage.
Is my dog or cat also welcome to stay?
Sorry, Orchard Cottage is not a pet friendly property.
What are the minimum stay rules?
- Summer Season: Between 2 and 7 nights, depending on the property
- Easter: 4 nights
- Long Weekends: 3 nights
- All other times: 2 nights
Are there any special Summer Season rules?
Please note that during Summer Season, our properties may have designated changeover days so as to make the cleaning rosters manageable. We also do not schedule arrivals on the Christmas, Boxing, and New Years Day public holidays.

Fantastic
Andrew B - 13th April 2023Great cozy place to stay, our kids loved it! We covered over 3200km, staying at beaches and cities, this was their favourite place. The grounds offered so much for them to explore, creeks, forests, lawns with wildlife in abundance. Kangaroos, cockatoos, wombats and not to mention the two miniature ponies and two llamas. The cottage was well equipped and warm with a wood heater downstairs and a split system upstairs. Staff are friendly, helpful and very accomodating, couldn't recommend it enough!

Great cottage
Stephanie G - 1st March 2022The cottage is clean and in good condition. The location was perfect, just a short drive to major and smaller towns. The property is picturesque and we still had quite a lot of privacy. The beds were very comfortable too! I loved the charm of the property. The option of late check out (outside peak season) is fabulous. It added to the relaxation of our stay, not rushing to check out.
Great place to stay and the grounds are so pleasant to wind down in after a day exploring the southern highlands. The place is so charming and was ample for our family of four. When we got to the cottage we were surprised how big the upstairs bedroom was with airconditioning and the cottage and the grounds have BBQ's and airconditioning. Would come back again for sure. Oh and the animals are super cute and the kids loved taking them carrots in the morning.

My daughter loved her bed and the little pony so much, wanting to go back straight away..... Loved every minute there, will definitely go back!
