The Pottery Cottage, Alpine, Southern Highlands
800 Old Hume Highway, Alpine
The Pottery Cottage, Alpine, Southern Highlands - 4pm check out Sundays and Public Holidays, except Summer Season
The Pottery Cottage started life as a pottery studio bu has been lovingly converted into a comfortable, characterful cottage. There are two bedrooms, each with ensuite and bedding for 5 guests. The design of the living area and bedrooms makes extensive use of beautiful timber cladding and a double height ceiling with exposed timber joists. During the colder months, the fireplace makes this a wonderful cozy place to be.
Where will I be?
Pottery Cottage is located within the Little Forest complex, a collection of 7 cottages spread across 40 acres of grounds. Your cottage will have its own private spaces, but please be aware that other guests may be around as well. Communal spaces include the lawns, gardens, driveway and trails, but you will have plenty of privacy as well. The Little Forest complex has a bush setting and is circled on one side by the Sydney - Melbourne railway line. As a result, trains are audible at times, and for any kids, part of the fun! Little Forest also has various trails throughout its 42 acres, but please keep children supervised at all times due to wildlife, unfenced dams and trains.
Why choose The Pottery Cottage?
The Pottery Cottage is a charming and comfortable base from which to explore the Southern Highlands. Set amongst beautiful gardens and removed from other cottages on the property, Pottery Cottage feels like a secluded and comfortable getaway.
How is the property laid out?
The Pottery Cottage is reached down a tree-lined country drive way. You approach the house through beautiful gardens and enter into a charming country kitchen and dining area. The front door opens into the open plan living, dining and kitchen area. The bedrooms are at each end of the cottage, and both bathrooms have a shower, bath and toilet. The living area is located centrally between the two bedrooms. Outside is a courtyard with barbeque and seating for six.
Wi-Fi, Internet, Netflix or Pay TV will I have it?
Complimentary Wi-Fi is available and a password will be provided in your pre-arrival email. Please note that neither The Holidays Collection nor the owner can guarantee 100% that Wi-Fi will work, and no compensation will be payable if problematic. If Wi-Fi is important, please therefore always have a backup plan.
What about outdoors?
The Pottery Cottage is surrounded by lawns and gardens that are open for guests to use. The house is part of a larger 40 acre property which includes bush trails for guests to explore. Please be aware that there is an unfenced dam on the property so children must be supervised at all times.
Keeping warm or keeping cool?
Pottery Cottage has a slow combustion fireplace in the living area. All bedrooms have stand alone heaters. There are ceiling fans in the living room and all bedrooms.
What about sheets, towels and other supplies?
High quality sheets and towels are provided at Pottery Cottage.
Toilet paper, kitchen soaps, guest soaps and some other supplies are also provided, but please be prepared to top up during your stay as needed. Regarding food, condiments and the like, please plan to bring everything you need. For safety and hygiene reasons, our houses generally do not supply food items.

Is my dog or cat also welcome to stay?

MARILYN S - 29th March 2023We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Pottery Cottage. Our group also had Oatley Cottage and The Angas Carriage.
Beautiful Cottage for the perfect Country Escape!
Amanda U - 25th September 2022My family and I really enjoyed our stay at The Pottery Cottage. The cottage was just the right distance away from the others to enjoy the grounds, and my 18month old loved seeing the ponies and alpacas from our yard! Such friendly animals. We enjoyed our walk around the property and even had a Sunday picnic lunch in the sun facing the water. Would love to come back to this property, and comfortable to book at some of the other properties listed by The Holidays Collection.
Rustic & Basic
Lea K - 14th February 2022Located in a lovely setting, just near to the wedding venue we attended, the cottage is basic. The beds are very comfortable however if you prefer a dark quiet bedroom I would suggest eye mask & ear plugs, for the trains which do operate overnight. There are only basic amenities provided, The kitchen is not really suitable to cook your own food. Overall is was ok,
We definitely recommend this amazing cottage. We'll be back for sure!!!
Pottery Cottage
Rosalind P - 15th March 2021We enjoyed our stay at Pottery Cottage. The communication in the lead up to our stay was great, and we found the cottage comfortable and ideal for our stay. We especially loved the grounds and the walks around the property. Some other feedback: We used the last lightbulb The washers in the bathroom taps in the bathroom on the left will need to be replaced. Plus need for total vacuum of walls, ceilings and floors. There are hardly any glasses and big frypan needs replacing.
Just as I pictured, a small slice of Heaven!!
Stephen - 23rd October 2020Positive: The cottage was absolutely beautiful, fully self contained and easy access for anybody who needs assistance . People needing to unwind, this place ticks all the boxes, such tranquility Thinking of hiring out the whole property for a family reunion sometime in the near future Ponies and Alpacas an added bonus for all animal lovers 10/10Negative: In my opinion there was nothing that could have been improved
